Major: Chemistry (This Major's Salary over time)
I came here with an open mind, looking for other people interested in learning and collaborating. I found a bunch of whiny kids with bad Philly additudes. My roommate got mugged 2 months after being here, and several people have been shot on or around the campus this year. There is constant police activity outside my residence building. My biggest problem with this place is the student body; no one is motivated to do anything beyond the minimum required. The atmosphere here smacks of anti-white sentiment, no matter how hard you try to get along with people. There are good things, though. The professors are teachers first and researchers second. I've definitely learned a lot since I began here, and I feel pretty well prepared to transfer. If you can work by yourself and immerse yourself in what you're studying, there are a lot of opportunities, as I'm sure there are at most colleges. I just sort of feel like a square peg in a round hole here.
