I started out as a chemical engineering major at Davis. I found that the engineering professors couldn't be bothered to help me because I was a woman. One told me, "Why should I help you? You're just going to graduate and have babies." I ended up changing majors, but I should have transfered somewhere else and stayed in engineering or in some other science field.
