Honors is where it's at. If I was not in Honors, I would probably not be going here. We get our own advisors, scholarships, classes, and alot of personal attention. It is uncredibly unfair to the vast majority of non-Honors students. Shoot for it.

Temple is a monstrous beurocracy. All the individual offices DO NOT communicate with eachother. Expect to deal with identical forms for each office (housing, financial, international, etc.). Expect to fill out your address many, many times. One hand does not know what the other is doing. However, I have found that personally emailing or contacting the people within the offices (which is very, very easy to do due to the standardized email addresses) can get alot done.

The campus itself is unexpectedly nice, and I have never felt in any personal danger. Immediately off campus, however, is a different story. Temple University is in one of the poorest and most dangerous neigborhoods in America, and going off-campus can be risky. If you are uncomfortable at the sight of homeless people and panhandlers, you will not enjoy this school. In addition, the campus tends to shut down on the weekends. Many students go home, and most of the things on campus (food trucks, stores) close down. Temple makes up for this by having Greater Philadelphia easily to get to from campus, but if you do not know Philadelphia well, it is a strange city. It is almost entirely shut down on sundays and on weeknights, and non-bar oriented nightlife can be tough to find. But, the city, and Temple's connection with it, makes it an interesting place to go.
