Williams is an amazing school. I honestly don't believe there is anywhere to be getting an undergraduate education that is better in the world. The faculty are all amazing—I look forward to every single one of my classes!! All of my teachers knew my name by the second week of classes (and I'm in 3 intro classes!). The College does a fantastic job really taking care of its students…I feel that my tuition money is being extremely well spent. Before coming here I was a little worried about the other kids. I came from an extremely poor, appalachian area, and I had heard rumors about Williams students being "preppy" and "snobby." However, those rumours couldn't be any more incorrect!! There is a wide range of students from different socioeconomic backgrounds, and NOBODY is snobby! Everybody is amazingly friendly. My favorite thing about my fellow students is that everybody surprises you in some way, whether it is because they are a basketball star who is an amazing concert violinist, or the computer club president who's the best IM soccer player on the field, everybody has some hidden talent or ability. I was also a little worried about Williams' isolation. Now that I am here, it doesn't feel isolated at all! We're about 50 minutes from Albany, an hour from Northampton, 2.5 hours from Boston, 3.5 hours from NYC, and 4.5 hours from Montreal. There are so many things to do around campus that I haven't felt like I needed to go off campus yet (even tho we are fairly close to so many cities). Spring street has several amazing restaurants (if you visit, eat at the Thai place), and there is a Wallmart close by. Williams College Museum of Art and the Clark Art Institute are practically on campus (two excellent museums). MASSMOCA is about a 10 minute drive away. Tanglewood is about an hour away. Obviously, this is a very cosmopolitan area. The campus is absolutely breathtaking—as I walk to classes every day I just look around and feel so incredibly lucky to be at a place like Williams.Everybody is so incredibly happy here.Housing is amazing, the food is amazing. Williams has more success in med/business/law/grad schools than almost any other college in the country. I'd HIGHLY recommend Williams to ANYBODY!! You really can't go wrong with a college as wonderful as Williams is.
