Have you had problems with housing? I am from Baltimore and thinking about transfering from my community college to Temple. However Ive heard people are not guranteed housing and have to sometimes find apartments.. is that true??? |
Major: Communications (This Major's Salary over time)
Coming from a very rural, middle-of-nowhere town , i was SO excited to come and experience what Temple U. and Philly have to offer, and i can honestly say i truly do like it here :) A lot of people talk about security @ temple, or lack there of, but i for one have never felt afraid or in harms way when walking around during the day or night. All that said, there are a few things that i think incoming freshman should know before they come…1) when signing up for housing, if you're in Communications, DO NOT, and i repeat…DO NOT!!! sign up for the "Learning Community" program. Not only do you get the crappiest dorm Hardwick, but you'll be put on the top floor where it's always at LEAST 10 degrees hotter than the rest of the building.2)Buy your books at Zavelli's, it's much cheaper than the bookstore. MUCH MUCH cheaper.3)If you live in Johnson 'n Hardwick, expect to have on average of one fire alarm a week…and if you're lucky, they'll all be in b/w 2am - 5am :)4)NEVER FORGET DIAMOND DOLLARS ARE REAL MONEY!! :)
