USC is definitley a great school. There are a few conditions though that if you are OUT OF STATE you must realize.

Coming from right outside NYC to Columbia was practically coming to a different country. If you are not an open minded person and aren't willing to except people for how they were raised and how they choose to live, then DON'T COME!!! BUT if you can do that, i guarantee you will have a great time. 5 points and the Vista are sweet…you can get easily find people to head to the bars with any night of the week. Charleston is only an 1 1/2 away…perfect for weekends at the beach. AND ofcourse… even though our football team sucked this year..(we'll be MUCH better next, you can count on it) football games are AMAZING…everyone LOVES being a GAMECOCK!!!!!

Academics… WELL, i am a hotel restaurant and tourism major… so far all of my major classes have been great…professors are all down to earth and for the most part love to help you out whenever you can.. HOWEVER, taking your core classes does blow, just like at any other college. for the rest of the professors at USC…some can definitley be jerks… specifically in the sciences… (bio, pre-med) that shit. but you know, good and bad profs are wherever you go. so far all of mine have spoken english so i'm assuming that's a good thing.

Hi, I'm from the West Coast… (Washington State -__-) and I really want to go south (but not that south) I visited Mississippi State last year and I absolutely LOVED it. I went with my bestfriend, though, and I felt like everyone was starring at us (I'm white, she's black). I really love the whole southern culture, but I don't like ignorance I just like REAL PEOPLE. I'm wondering what the racism is like in the states like South/North Carolina… and at this school.
