Stony Brook is full of kids that couldn't afford their top choice. No one is particularlly happy here, except the pot heads, so a lot of people transfer out. But when it comes down to it, the pricetag is so low for such a reputable and high standard education that it can't really be passed up. Also, there are a lot of great services on campus that a lot of people don't take advantage of. They have GREAT study abroad options. Unfortunately, because 80% of students are not here after friday afternoon, u need to make your own entertainment.
