The university is an incredible resource, if by only because of its size and, necessarily, influence later in life. There are so many Penn Staters (500,000) that you'd be hard pressed to not be able to find one working in your future field somewhere.

My biggest problem here might be the quality of the students. It baffles me how idiotic/lazy/cheating oriented some students are here. I am also not a big advocate of people being able to transfer to University Park from satellite campuses and retaining their GPA. Classes are clearly more difficult at UP, yet somebody, who by entrance standards (GPA, SAT, ACT; University Park 3.51-3.90 University Park 1180-1340 University Park 26-30

All other campuses 2.87-3.35

All other campuses 960-1150 All other campuses 20-25) could have accomplished FAR less in getting to that point by taking easier classes could very well end up graduating with a higher class rank. I find that to be extremely unfair even though it does not directly hurt me in any way.

The faculty are nearly all excellent. Those who complain about their instructors have generally neve tried to engage themselves in any conversation with them. This especially applies in the fields of business and science, both EXTREMELY highly ranked departments of the university.

I've had extensive experience in many of the departments as I am double majoring and triple minoring.

Initially I only came here because I was fortunate enough to receive a full scholarship. As with many others, I've come to love it and call it home. I've developed some life-long friends here and have been involved in a TON of different organizations here. I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have.

questionHey mate, I am an aussie that is thinking of coming over to PSU for an exchange. Sounds awesome, but just wondering how 'international' students are treated within the campus. ALso, heard a few negative comments to do with racism. Any response would be appreciated, Cheers.
questionI hope you still use this email!

Im an international student going to PSU this summer. How hard is it to settle in really? Its hard to judge when half the people say you cant do anything if you dont drink, and others say yes you can.. Its so confusing for me, I really want to go. Without being biased.. how easy is it to make friends?
