Major: English (This Major's Salary over time)
Simmons College provides wonderful academics in the sciences, including nursing, physical therapy, pre-med. pharmacy, and pharmacy, they do not however, have a pre-vet or pre-law program. The humanities departments leave alot to be desired (the departments are small, no anthropology, religious studies, classics, modern languages above the 200 level excluding Spanish and French, as you would find at better liberal arts colleges), there is one professor for the music "department," there is no theatre program, or much of an art program. On the plus side, all of my teachers have been full professors and very friendly and engaged with the students. However, the classes have a likeness to high school in that you feel constantly monitored for attendance, participation etc… This school is quite stifling in that there is ABSOLUTELY NO SOCIAL LIFE ON CAMPUS. The Residence Life Office is doing a poor job: last year I was placed in a single room, WITH A ROOMATE, it was impossible to unbunk the beds, and there are bars over the windows. I was without a room for three weeks last year because of the wonderful ResLife people. I could go on and on, but as for next year, I'M OUT. If you're heavily involved with the sciences and don't mind a dead, small, ugly campus, than Simmons is the place for you.
