I
attended UTB as a commuter, and I guess I'm glad
the school was available to me. Like any school,
it has some good faculty members. Unfortunately, the student
body is mainly made of refugees from Brownsville's corrupt and
failed public school system. Most of the classes in
the biggest departments are remedial (down to elementary-school math!).
Since
giving diplomas to underpriviledged kids makes everyone look good, UTB
gives out a lot of them, even though graduates from
Houston Community College (which I have attended—supurb school) probably have
a better education.
The standards are so low that a
UTB degree is worthless if you plan to continue your
education in an academic subject.
