Vassar is definitely the kind of place that takes getting used to - and admittedly the social life if not for everyone. However, looking back at a difficult freshmen year and a fabulous sophmore year, I am glad that I chose to stay at Vassar. The people at Vassar are friendly. Many straight women complain of the lack of straight males, but as long as your goal in college is not meeting the man of your dreams, I think Vassar is a perfect place. The school gives you an enormous amount of freedom to explore - academics and yourself. They encourage individualism and a well-balanced lifestyle. The sense of community at Vassar is overwhelming and it is a safe campus.
