Hi! I am also very interested in foreign languages. French and Mandarin in particular. Unfortunately, I'm not the most socially adept person, and I don't drink or anything like that. I am looking for a really good language program, so your comment is nice, but I am concerned about the social life. You said it is difficult to navigate. Would you please expand on that? |
Major: Language - French/Spanish/etc. (This Major's Salary over time)
It is important for me to put in a good word for Hamilton, although I do understand the stereotypes addressed by others on this site. The Hamiilton College experience is very unique. As a liberal arts institution, the school encourages students to explore various disciplines and choose a major that (generally speaking) they are extremely passionate about. Although the social life is difficult to navigate, it is an important learning experience of its own. I encourage students not to dismiss Hamilton College, but instead to have as much faith in the student body and faculty that many alumni share. I am a strong advocate of Hamilton, and in particular, Hamilton's Junior Year in Paris program. For those of you considering spending a year abroad and/or are interested in majoring in a foreign language, Hamilton is ideal. My professors and fellow students in the French department were a diverse, intelligent, and challenging group of people. I knew from the moment I visited the Hamilton College campus that it was the place for me. I would not trade in the 4 years I spent there for the world.
