If you are looking for a Christian school which will help you grow in your social, intellectual, and spiritual lives, Messiah is an excellent choice. I would say that I "found" myself for the first time while I was a student there.

Messiah's social scene is rated low on this site, but I found it to be a fantastic social scene. There are many ways to get to know people, many social gatherings and hot locations on campus. I have several friends that I believe I will be connected with for the rest of my life.

There is an underground group of students who drink and there is wild sexual behavior going on, as I'm sure there is at any school, but it isn't often talked about. Many could go through four years without knowing this is happening on campus. Others will seek it out and find it easily through certain people. I knew about it and had a few friends engaged in this "underground" but was not really affected by it myself.

I was a Bible major at Messiah. The Biblical Studies program changed my life. The Bible department will open eyes to view how we are to think about the Bible's role in history, who its authors and intended audiences were, and what our own presuppositions are in personal reading and research. Going into it, I thought I would learn more about what is in the Bible (and, to be sure, I did), but its purpose is more to give students the tools to use in approaching how to read and discuss the Bible.

My wife was a Nutrition and Dietetics major, I had friends in Nursing, Engineering, History, Political Science, Music, and Christian Ministries. All of them loved their experiences and feel they were prepared for the first steps in their careers.

I am now enrolled in a masters program at Fuller Theological Seminary and hope to go on to a PhD program in Theology and/or Biblical Studies, eventually teaching at a college just like Messiah, if not Messiah itself.
