I liked UCLA overall, although it wasn't perfect. You must be independent and a hard worker to survive here—no one is going to "babysit" you if you screw things up. I recommend that HS students get good grades and test scores in order to get into UCLA. I had an A average in high school, took AP classes, and got a 1290 on the SAT's, plus I was involved in extracurricular activities like clubs. I also highly recommend finding someone to help you write your admissions essay (like your English teacher). There are tons of smart people at UCLA, but don't be intimidated. Just try your best.
