Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
My overall experience at Kettering (GMI at the time I went) was good. I met great people, and enjoyed the experiences I had. My problem was studying. I didn't set enough time aside for schoolwork, and that was my downfall. I ended up failing out after a year, and joined the United States Navy. There I went through Naval Nuclear Power School, which is like going through 2 years of college in 6 months, without the humanities course requirements. Unfortunately, it's not an accredited school, and though I took advanced courses in an the field of mechanical / nuclear engineering, I don't get any credit for it from a scholastic sense. I do, however, have over 8 years experience now in that field. I hope to someday finish what I started at GMI, whether it be there or another college close to where I currently reside. That accomplishment would be a great stepping stone for me to transition into management within my company (Consolidated Edison Company of New York).
