Major: Mechanical Engineering (This Major's Salary over time)
Engineering at Texas A&M is truly top-notch. Ask people who actually employ engineers. A&M's engineering school prepares students for real jobs, not just how to know a lot of stuff. I did not apply to MIT (only A&M), but honestly I think that if I had, I would have been accepted—and then I would be very unhappy there. Plus A&M is relatively cheap and passes out scholarships like candy to good students.
