Abilene as a town is interesting, and at times dull. I believe HSU follows this trend. However, the quality of the average person on campus is what I still love about the school. Some students drink, most don't, some who don't can come off as very judgemental, that is what I expected none the less. Some of the profs I've had in the school of business had no business teaching the class that I attended, thats my one big issue. I wish the admin would chill out and let the students have a little more fun, give us some say in the activities around campus, bring in some bands or something. Steering committe lacks diversity and is a load of crap in my opinion. Greeks are local, but still fulfilling to those seeking brother/sisterhood, I would def recommend pledging as a fish, just know that you will have to work diligently in all areas as grades have been known to suffer. Overall my 3 years here have been the time of my life. Everybody just needs to escape the bible school bubble that so many freshman arrive in, and realize that not everyone loves God in the same, but we are commanded to love everyone, gasp even the "drinkers." Thats right I said it.
