Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
West Georgia is now known as the Univ. of West Georgia.

I spent my first two years of college at a community college in Atlanta, then transfered to W. GA. At W. GA I felt like an individual, not just part of the herd. The professors usually had time to answer questions after class, and were willing to discuss different views. A couple of the profs were stinkers, but the vast majority were really good.

A lot of students complained about the lack of social life and the fact that Carrollton was a small town. I was just the opposite…I appreciated the fact that the campus was located in a small town…fewer distractions…easier for me to concentrate on schoolwork. Also, my off-campus job was just five minutes away, rather than fighting traffic for an hour in a larger city. You have to realize that W. GA and Carrollton are not going to be Disney World with constant entertainment. As with any educational setting, it is what you make it. Most of the course work in my major was challenging for me.

I was so busy with school and work, I didn't have time to get into the social scene very much. I made many good friends there, and the beautiful setting and small-town atmosphere were good for me. Being so physically close to everything lowered the stress level.

I think W. GA was a great deal for the money…a positive experience. After graduation, I was able to get into the field I wanted (aviation). Overall, very positive experience at W. GA. The place isn't Harvard, but there again most people don't need an Ivy League setting to succeed in life.
