Major: Agriculture/Horticulture (This Major's Salary over time)
My professors and student advisors were honest with me about my chosen field. They talked honestly to me about the pros and cons of going into the field of horticulture. The best thing about the horticulture program at Virginia Tech was the small class size and individual attention given to each student. There was a "family" atmosphere between the faculty and students.I would have been more involved in student organizations and clubs earlier in my attending Tech. My experiences in clubs and organizations further developed stronger character and made my total college experience more satisfying. It also helped prepare me for the "real" world.Choose a field that you are passionate about even if it means less money because you are most likely to enjoy going to work every morning. Too many people go to college and major in something that truly doesn't excite them but pays well. I have seen too many people change jobs every 2 or 3 years because they are bored or unsatisfied with what they do. If you are passionate about what you do, the good money will come in time.
