SUNY Bing is an affordable school. Since it is a public state school and the fact that it's NYS, Binghamton U. does not have a huge budget to work with. As an SOM student, I can only say that many firms from NYC recruit heavily from Bing. Outside the northeastern region, Binghamton is almost unheard of by companies. The surrounding city is truly a saddening sight to see. There are some nice areas but when you pass through the bad ones, you will definitely know. It looks like a run-down ghost town. The streets are bumpy, the store fronts looks like it has not changed for more than 30 years and the local people are dubious to the college person. Not all but many are. I live off-campus and renting a room from a local resident who is one of the nicest person I know in Binghamton city.Anyway, if you want to enjoy this place, you have to look for your excitement - it certainly will not come to you like other schools. Get involved - join clubs! There are tons here. Apply for a job and expose yourself. You'll meet some great people on campus. Good luck.
