Major: English (This Major's Salary over time)
For current Hamilton students: I was severely disappointed by Hamilton my first 2 years there. People didn't care about the work, girls only liked frat boys, I had weird boring roommates (tough to be both, I know), the weather, same social scenes, people didn't seem outgoing at all. The usual complaints. The last two years were the best years of my life. People at Hamilton are truly smart, friendly and unique people. You have to make an effort and look past some of the prep school hockey player dicks. As an alumnus in NYC Hamilton has been priceless. Ham Techers are everywhere. We're smart but we are much less arrogant than other colleges (believe it or not) and our alumni are fiercely loyal and unbelievably successful in tons of fields. Yeah, you're isolated up there at Hamilton but you will be very prepared to live in any major city when you leave and you will have plenty of alumni to help you when you get there. And after a few years in NYC, Boston or San Fran you'll wish you were in North or Carnegie with smart fun people and you'll be tired of living in a big city. There is plenty of time in your 20s and 30 to live in a big city. Therearen't many opportunities to live on a goreous campus in beautiful dorms with amazingly talented people. Who cares if it snows 4 feet a week. Make the most of the people around you. Every person there is talented and they are most likely friendly if you reach out to them. And you know what, your friend at UNC or BC or Colby DOES NOT love their school as much as they say they do. Make the most of Hamilton, you'll love it more when you realize what you have.
