It's interesting to read the reviews that complain about the town or about social life on campus. To be fair, WIlliamstown is not a bustling metropolis, but it is a friendly and attractive small town nestled in one of the most beautiful landscapes in New England. Opportunities—for culture, for immersion in the outdoors, for exploration—abound. Those who can't find something to do in the Berkshires simply haven't looked beyond their own four walls.Social life is similar: there's no shortage of things to do, groups to be involved in, games to play, etc. People who complain that social life revolves around varsity sports or a cappella or alcohol simply must not have tried to meet anybody outside their frosh entry. Williams has a diverse student body with hugely diverse interests, and all you have to do is look a little and you'll find something to do. Maybe it won't be what you expected to find, but that's the beauty of the place, you'll always discover something new if you look.
