Major: Computer Science (This Major's Salary over time)
This school has a very small campus, and the facilities are very poor. The library is small and not extensive, the computer lab has about 30 computers, and is usually full of students who are more interested in talking to each other or on their cell phone than in working. Good luck trying to get any work done when the people around you won't shut up. The dining facilities are also extremely bad, the cafeteria, which serves nothing but cold pizza, french fries and the worst burgers I've ever had, is supposed to be open until 9PM, but usually closes around 6. The area is not the best either, there are several low income housing projects adjacent to the school, and you had better stay on campus after dark because this school is very close to some of the worst areas of Boston, it's ghetto. Even though the Boston Police Headquarters is a block away, you still don't feel safe. Also there isn't a restaurant or bar within a mile of this school, but there is great public transportation in Boston, just jump on the subway, theres a stop across the street from campus, and in 5 minutes you're in the heart of Boston. The teachers here are hit or miss, I've had some great ones who are not only experts in their subject, they are experts in teaching it in such a way that you fully understand it, and they will bend over backwards to help you. And there are some who are the complete opposite. But I suppose this is true of every school. Most of the computer professors just stand there and give boring lectures, accompanied by boring powerpoint slides. I have to admit that with most of the computer courses I've taken I feel I would have learned more if I had skipped the classes and studied on my own. There are some good aspects, there is a very good co-op program in this school, so if you take part in that you will spend a lot of time working in your field of study, which will give you some very valuable job experience before you even graduate. But I am very dissapointed with this school, and I know many other students who are as well, and I looking forward to transferring to another school next year.
