University of Michigan gives you a broad background in the liberal arts, which has helped me as a writer. I also took a marketing class in the business school. I would recommend taking advantage of all the school has to offer. I think U of M helped me become a leader because I got involved. I also met so many different kinds of kids. I don't think the communications program in the 1980s was anything to write home about. It was pretty basic..but never taught you newswriting like grad school did. All in all, I'm glad I went and I have many wonderful friends from my A2 days.
