Major: Business - Management and Administration (This Major's Salary over time)
I came to GMU looking strictly for an academic experience - however I found so much more. I was fortunate to have been placed in one of the newer dorm communities - and I can honestly say I am really happy to have chosen George Mason University. I'll break down my two year experience here as follows:

1.) Academics - Excellent. The Business and Accounting programs are rigorous with creative structures that not emphasize class room learning but real world applications in group and individual projects. My accounting and finance classes surpassed my expectations. More importantly - Mason's location opens up vast opportunities for internships and co-ops at the numerous companies located close-by. These resources surpass what I could have found if I had been stuck in Harrisonburg or Blacksburg.

2.) Campus - The campus is beautiful. Most of it is quite new and the school is adding many new dorms, recreational facilities, and academic/library/ and research buildings. It is well maintained with heavily wooded sections and well maintained trees, plants, fountains, etc. The Dorms are amazing - as most are very new. The schools took the time to make the dorm sites like small villages with restaurants, shops, and gyms. All organized for easy walking around campus. In addition, free transportation is provided into Old Town Fairfax which has bars, restaurants, shops, and many services. Again - the really leveraged its prime location. Washington DC is just four metro stops away.

3.) Social Life- 10 years ago Mason could have been considered a commuter school. My two years here has seen this change. With over 5,000 students living on campus and another 2,500 rooms to be added in the next two years - there are more students living on campus than JMU and we will soon have the same amount as tech. Plenty of parties, plenty of bars, plenty of activities and clubs to join.

At Mason you will get a better education than at GW without dropping 50K.

Best Choice I ever made.
