A lot of people at OU aren't there to make friends. They just want to take their classes and leave. There is NOTHING to do there. People are rude and snotty because they live in Oakland County. The academics there are pretty good, but DO NOT GO THERE. You will die of boredom.

I think a lot must have changed since you were at Oakland. I'm there right now and everybody is SUPER friendly, wants to see others do well, and the faculty is INCREDIBLE. The facilities aren't the best but the kindness of the students is the most motivating force I have ever witnessed and the talent that comes out of the school is pretty remarkable. You should pay a visit some time. I think you'll like what you see. (:
