Absolutely do not attend PBA unless you are a closedminded, private school educated, right wing Republican Christian with no mind of your own. This school is BORING and way too focused on religion. Everything in class relates back to religion. If you try to express opinions disagreeing with Christianity or the Bible you are ignored and written off. There is nothing to do on the weekends—don't let the beaches fool you. Trust me, you'll get sick of going to the beach. There are nice restaurants and good shopping within walking distance, but unless Mommy and Daddy are still handing you money everyday, you can't afford any of those places. People are nice and genuine for the most part, but so naive. They are mostly set in their ways, with Christian ideals drilled in their heads. Classwork is of average difficulty. Definitely a small, intimate setting, with a lot of interaction in most classes. However, course selection is very limited. PBA is best suited for pre-pharmacy, ministry, or business majors. Everything else seems to have been forgotten. It's nearly impossible to get into a science course because there are basically only four classes or so per semester. You are required to attend 12 chapel services per semester, and complete 45 hours of community service per year. The chapel isn't that bad, you can finish it with weeks to spare. But the community service hours sneak up on you. If you do, for whatever reason, attend PBA, I recommend finishing most of your community service hours in the first semester, because it is seriously a pain to figure it all out at the end of the year. You can avoid community service by going on a missions trip, but who has $3000 to go on one? Not me. Oh, and freshmen have a curfew for the first semester, which they conveniently don't tell you on the tour. Visitation policies in the dorms are ridiculous. You can forget about partying because it is not going to happen. Ever. I'm not kidding. Live off campus. Basically, this year at PBA has been torture for me and I can't wait to transfer and meet people with original ideas.
