Palm Beach Atlantic University is a snooty, arrogant private school attempting to maintain Christian values in the name of over-priced tuition. The education I received there was nowhere near as fantastic as FAU. The people I met, well- let's just say I hope I never see them again. The majority of the population is white, close-minded, and often try to justify the pricey tuition (where I learned the hard way that the PRICE does not reflect educational VALUE) with "Christian" excuses, ie, "GOD needs your help," "Don't you want to live for God,", etc. Yes, other Christian colleges are strict, PBA, but what do they charge? Pensacola Christian College has A+++ facilities, countless activities, and a GREAT education for less than $6,000 a year (tuition, room and board). I went to PCC for a year, and left because, at the time, I was young and wanted to have fun without rules. Now that I have graduated from FAU, I appreciate the learning environment and discipline I learned at PCC, while saving money. However, I REGRET wasting MONEY at PBA. PBA's rules won't stop students from getting drunk. If you want to get drunk, it's a mere few blocks away. I used to stay out all night until 6 AM, so I could re-enter the dorms without being breathalyzed. The FIVE times that I WAS breathalyzed was when I HAD NOT even been drinking. Funny how they treated me as if I were drunk by speaking condescendingly and loudly.

The RA's (Becky, leader of the Bible thumping pack) and other student workers are robots. They belong at a stricter Christian college. Many of them even say that SMOKERS will go to hell (there is a notorious smoker's wall in the center of campus that the robots wish to, ironically, burn down). My roommate was often bombarded by them for not being "Christian", and would ask her if she was Muslim (she is of BRAZILIAN descent… hmm). But regular students? They are divided between Abercrombie rich kids claiming to be "holier than thou", poor kids struggling to get an education, and party kids.

The school will fine you for anything, but if you want information on anything in the security office, Kara Luffman will be happy to tell you anything from the security manager's affair, to who got caught doing what (did I mention pictures as well?!). And I mean ANYTHING- apparently being bound to confidentiality means nothing.

So, I have rambled. But overall, if you DO decide to go there, you should live off-campus, and have a scholarship. The education is NOT worth the price, the campus is SMALL, and they lack necessary facilities for all programs, except pharmacy. Also, beware of hypocrites. I have had more trouble and mental grief from hypocrites at this school than others I have attended. Students enjoy combing Clematis for drunks (while they DRINK), so that they may turn the other students in…

Oh, and even if you have a scholarship—beware. If you transfer schools, they will find a mysterious fee for $2,000 that wasn't covered (although you have had the same scholarship for TWO years with no problem), and not send you a receipt of payment…

My advice: GO SOMEWHERE WORTH THE PRICE!!! There are tons of colleges out there that have MORE facilities and opportunities and are MUCH CHEAPER!
