This person is definitely not "quite bright"… |
You're a moron for not researching a school you would have to pay for. And the ghetto? Please! |
Well…I'm a concerned parent and already I have questioned why students are paying so much money or borrowing so much money for a school with poor maintenance, poor response to complaints, financial aid not being disbursed on time, and overpriced foods in the cafeteria. I know that the quality of the professors is excellent and I have also been told that some do play favorites. I want to know who is this President Schutte? Where is the faculty? What do they do? Are their living conditions well maintained…things like that. I have had a sense of mismanagement of student funds and unlike other parents I will investigate if I have to. I can't see myself giving this school money so that it can be mismanaged and so that my daughter will not fullfill her dreams. |

Pratt is THE BIGGEST REGRET of my life so far. It was the biggest RIP OFF on the planet. The tuition is ridiculous, and the supplies they force you to buy from their store are even worse (half of which I never touched or used). The grading system is unfair and makes no sense. Every teacher would choose a few favorites and if you weren't one of them then you would pretty much fail. If you think that you will be living in a New York City environment FORGET ABOUT IT. Pratt is in the GHETTO right near the projects. When I was a freshman some girl got clubbed to death only steps from the campus. I never felt safe walking to the subway or anywhere outside the campus. If you want to get to Manhattan you have to wait for the G train, and it comes about every 45 minutes. Then it takes another half an hour to get to the city. The people are not welcoming at all, it is very hard to make friends. The foundation year is SO hard, you won't have a life. That doesn't matter however, because there are no parties (and if there are, THEY SUCK). There are so many great art schools to choose from that are in Manhattan, GO TO ONE OF THEM. If you want to go to a disorganized, weird, dangerous, overpriced, overrated, and miserable school then Pratt is for you. If you want a good experience and good education go somewhere else.
