Major: PreLaw and Legal (This Major's Salary over time)
Professors give the pretense of assistance, but they generally refuse to provide any useful assistance in your first year. However, if professors like you or you happen to do well according to their archaic, guess-related system, they become more supportive. But typical students receive very little help or guidance. Also, the educational philosophy of the school is like law schools of the 1950s and 60s. They do not teach what they want you to know or how they want you to present the information. They expect you to divine that yourself. Apparently, they think lawyering is an innate skill. You tend to find many of the highest performing students have very myopic and simplistic thinkers. The law review generally produces pretty bad articles. Most of the professors do not dedicate themselves to research and writing. They mainly rest on their laurels. They believe they know what is right and wrong with the law, and other opinions are illegitimate. They do not consider adjusting their lessons to better teach their students. Poor performance is strictly laid upon the students' shoulders, despite the number of poor performers in a class. The school has no coordinated program to help struggling students or to work with students with learning differences/disabilities. In fact, the faculty and the administration tended to be quite harsh and belittling to these populations. Furthermore, they tended to be racially insensitive. There are some great professors at the school, and recent changes in administration have improved the school according to recent students. And they are moving the school to Raleigh. This will improve many of the schools location issues, but the professors generally lack collegial or supportive relationships with students. For the cost and the stress this school imposes upon its students, I cannot recommend it.
