University of Phoenix offers a fine education for working adults. I attended the Information Technology program. I attended both on campus and on line courses. I found that both required a diligent amount of reading, studying and hard work. It is fast paced and you must be disciplined, otherwise it is easy to fall behind. The learning teams I found to be positive and negative. Most of my learning teams were good experiences with everyone contributing and ensuruing the work gets completed. At times, I did find some students would not put forth as much effort and eventually through counseling they either dropped out or put the additional effort forth. That would be my largest complaint of my experience at UOP. In addition, the cost is quite steep. UOP tends to raise their tuition costs almost yearly and I feel that is more for business gain than anything else. The other issue I had was that the programs are changed every couple of years and if you do not keep up on the courses and take a leave for some time you may end up repeating similar courses due to the program version change. I had to argue with the University a few times to get my past credits of previously taken courses accepted in liue of the new program version. Despite that, UOP offers a fine education and I would recommend it for those who are working adults that never had the opportunity or time to obtain a Degree the traditional route. For those younger students just finishing high school my recommendation would be to take the traditional route through the brick and mortar type colleges.
