Date: Apr 22 2009 Major: Sociology (This Major's Salary over time) My college education has not helped me at all. I suppose having done some prelimary searching into the type of industries available in the area would have helped me choose a more applicable major. I wasted thousands of dollars on a degree I can't use. Most jobs in the area require a HS education with years of experience preferred over higher education. Basically, my graduate degree over qualifies me for most jobs…and I wind up getting rejected. As for quality…UTSA was not the best school to attend but it was the cheapest…and as always you get what you pay for. Live and learn. I would advise future students to do a search on local industry demands so as not to waste $$ on a degree you will never use and further hurt your chances of landing a decent job. Oh, and don't expect any help from UTSA staff…their only goal is to fill seats.
