Major: Perfomance Arts (This Major's Salary over time)
Pace University's performing arts department is very good and improving. As the department gets more selective, it is getting very competitive, but there is no true animosity that I have experienced amongst the acting majors. My experience with other areas of study here at Pace has been pretty sub-par. I feel that most academics are pretty un-challenging, though I have heard there are a few exceptionally good professors in other departments such as the political science department. The most unsatisfactory thing about Pace is the general rudeness of the staff and those directly running the school. Once you are admitted, you are treated rudely by everyone from security to the office of student assistance, and you have to really work hard to get anything done within the school's bureaucracy. Also, there really isn't a sense of campus unity about Pace, perhaps partially due to how amazing the night life in NYC is. Still, I definitely don't really feel a part of the "Pace community" and in fact often choose to alienate myself from it. There are a few student groups who try to create unity, such as PaceBoard, but they do so in such a way that is frankly juvenile and makes the students often look ignorant.
