Before coming to UWF, I wasn't sure about the university. After my 1st semester, I was trying to get up and ready to transfer out to UCF. After my 1st year of UWF, I can safely say that it's a legit institution. UWF really makes an individual more decisive about what they want, who they are, and what they want out of their college experience.UWF has good instructors, minus a few ones that need to be fired. The life here is what you make out of it. I came here from the South Florida region knowing nobody and now made about 100 odd something friends and joined 2 organizations and part of the Voyages leadership program. It's what you make out of it here. Everything isn't set into stone here. UWF is on the rise. Once the school builds their new dorms and buildings, the population is expected to double. If more of the alumni can continue to support it, be prepare to see UWF in the Sun Belt Division 1 NCAA for all sports and have it be about as hard as UCF to get into at some point.Pensacola isn't the greatest, but if you have good people around then it's not all bad. I don't really recommend living on campus after year one since all the housing sucks except the Greek housing if your organization can support the housing. Plus all the places on campus suck to eat it but in Pensacola there's a billion restaurants to your choosing. There are parties here and many things to do. If you want to have a college experience and not just study all the time, come here with a good attitude and maybe you will walk out a leader and even go to a better graduate school or get a good job.UWF sadly can't support graduate school too much. It has a few programs, but I don't plan to continue my graduate studies here. Plus the job market in Pensacola isn't the greatest. UWF can make you a better person if you let it. If you don't want to grow, then maybe UWF isn't for you.
