After a year at Suffolk University, this is my honest review:

ACADEMICS: B+

Most of the professors that I had at Suffolk were pretty good and some were outstanding. I only had one professor that I thought did a poor job. Class sizes are very small and I never had a class with more then 35 students. This makes it very easy to get to know your professor and seek outside help if you need it. In my opinion, the Busines school at Suffolk is really "hands on" and it prepares you for the real world very well. The university has an abundance of resources designed to help students "get ahead". The College of arts and science is definetly not as good, but still descent. I am not sure about the school of art and design (NESAD), but I hear its excelant. I must say though that it takes very little work to get an A in most classes at suffolk. Theres a few classes that are complete joke and some that are just too easy. This is not a bad thing, if your looking just to get 4.0 which any person with half a brain can easily do at Suffolk.

STUDENT BODY D+

It is incredibly easy to get into Suffolk and as a result theres a lot of dumb kids here. Seriously there are some kids here that got in with a 2.2 gpa. Many of these kids cannot comprehend the most basic work and wind up failing out after the first year. It sucks when you get start working with one of these kids and have to do all the work. Also, the tuition at Suffolk is very expensive and the shcool is located in a very expensive part of Boston so theres a lot of really rich and spoiled kids here. These kids can afford to go shopping every day and clubbing every night. Another thing that I noticed is that there is a lot of very sheltered kids at this school who stay in thier rooms all day and are too afraid to enjoy life. There are some of cool international kids here, but some are really spoiled as well. Overall, you will find that most of the kids here fit one of the stereotypes that I described. It sucks, going to school with so many dumb kids because you know that 20 years from now you most likely wont have anyone working anywhere important.

SOCIAL D

The social life at Suffolk SUCKS. It is nearly impossible to party in the dorms because the RA's will most likely bust you and you will get written up. There is practically no parties in the surrounding areas. Usually, in order to find a party you have to go to NORTHEASTERN or BU and even those parties dont even compare to parties at most state schools. I would say that you should be able to find some form of a party somewhere around Boston thursday, friday, and saturday most weekends. However, there is a very good chance that this party will be either way too packed or just a few people chilling and drinking a beer. Ive only been to a handful of good parties the whole time ive been in boston and I go out almost every night. Another thing I noticed, many kids here are content with quietly drinking in thier rooms, which makes college feel like high school. If your looking to have a fun time and party a lot, DO NOT COME HERE. I have visited my friends at other schools like Penn State and I can say that the social life there is way better.

SURROUNDING AREA A-

Boston is a really cool city. It is one of the most beautiful in America. There a lot of really cool spots and getting around is really easy due to public transportation. That bieng said, I dont thing Boston is the best place to be while you are an undergraduate unless you are rich or truly love the city. The nightlife here is centered around the 21+ crown. You can get in some bars if you have a descent fake ID, but a beer costs 5 bucks at any bar. At most bars and clubs the crowd will generally be significantly older then you. This is not a big deal to me, but Id rather chill around people my own age. Also, once you start going to the bars you will run out of money quickly unless your parents feed you a lot of money every week. There is a retarted law in MASS that prohibits drink specials so dont expect to find any good deals by looking around a lot. Believe me i tried. Also, boston is freezing from November to April. When its as cold as it gets here, it doesnt matter that you live in a beautiful city, because you will be stuck in your room instead of walking around.

EXTRACARICULLAR: F

There is practically no real clubs on campus. Theres no system of intramurals and if you wanna play a sport you better be very good at it and ready to play it every day for over 3 hours. Most of the exhisting school organizations are either academic or volunteer. It is very hard to find something fun toget involved in.

SCHOOL SPIRIT: F

Almost no one has any school spirit or pride in thier school in general.

OVERALL:

Suffolk is not worth the tuition and the housing. Only come here, if you have a lot of money. If you want a real "college experience" or to party a lot dont come here.
