I pray that by reviewing K College that
I can save at least one innocent person so that
they don't have to go there. In all honesty, this
school is a farce. I went there to play a
varsity sport (I won't say which out of respect to
the coach, who was a very likable guy) and was
so blown away by this complete and utter joke of
a school. I have since transferred to the University of
Michigan, Ann Arbor (after only 2/3 of a year at
kzoo), and thank the good Lord every day that I
am here. First of all,
the school itself. It is a pretty campus; however, it
is also roughly the size of my backyard. Do not
be fooled by people telling you that going to a
small school is an advantage- 3 of my 4 classes
at U of M are under 30 students. Also, there
is absolutely NOTHING to do. No rec center, no on
campus eateries, no arcades, movie theaters, unions, clubs, parties, the
weight room is open until like 9 oclock, and believe
it or not, so is the Burger King at the
end of campus. Please explain that one to me.
The student body is also an eclectic
group of weirdos. There are probably the same amount of
weirdos at Michigan, but there are also 22,000 normal people
to dilute them. By weirdos, I mean people that wear
top hats every day (no joke) or those that wear
their computer gaming headset down to dinner (I wish that
was a joke). For all the guys interested in the
school, don't count on ever seeing an attractive girl, unless
you head over to western. Girls, most of the guys
at kalamazoo like each other. In all honesty, the school
has to be 40-50% gay. I cannot
sing the praises of U of M high enough after
having lived through such an experience. Oh and not to
mention the fact kzoo is nearly twice the price of
michigan, and you receive about 3% of what you would
here. By all means, feel free to email me with
any questions- I would be more than happy to answer
them. I cannot stand by while this institution continues to
deceive prospective students.

Responses Hello! I've been researching colleges and had K-Zoo in my Top list. Since you obviously have an opinion and sound like you know what you're talking about, I'd love for you to tell me more about your experience.. If you don't mind, just email me. Oasisxo@hotmail.com |
In all honesty it sounds like you're a close-minded, judgemental jock. |
For the boy and his original comment: I'm sorry that you feel you need to express some sort of pride by exploiting your ignorance and common misconceptions of life's essential thought process while trying to big up your rudeness when really you seem to fit all stereo types. I hope you may evolve and I would imagine you are trying already |
| Please email me more, mdooley94@gmail..I was seriously considering this school, but now I need an honest answer and examples of why the school is so unfavorable. Can't wait to here from you! |
I am an alumna (K'09) and I wanted to give some of my experience to add some nuance to this comment. I loved my experience at K--from social life to academics--and based on the freshman classes I've seen come and go, it sounds like this commenter is one of maybe 3% of each incoming class. This 3% are made up of people who don't necessarily try to get involved right away in campus life, and in such a small school, if you don't jump in right away, you may miss your chance to get on the social scene and have a rough time from there. I think in most cases if you give it a shot, you'll find your niche and have a great time. That being said, each person has their own needs and expectations from college and I'm glad this young man found a place he felt more comfortable. |
