Date: Dec 19 2009 Major: Natural Resources (This Major's Salary over time) I went to UWF out of the Navy. It was local, decently priced and I didn't have to relocate. The academics at UWF were as demanding as any other school I've attended since. The fact that UWF is a small school was a plus. It had the feel of a pricier private college. But, my time at UWF did not prepare me for the large, state university experience. That is another world altogether. No matter how bright or motivated or driven you were at UWF the transition to a school like Ohio State is fraught with peril. There's a very good reason that you never hear about top flight scientists or business people coming out of such an institution. They strive for mediocrity, not original thinking. If you plan on going to graduate school after UWF, I urge anyone reading this to avoid making that mistake. Find another small school if you can. Preferably one on the semester system. Otherwise you may find yourself adrift in a sea of apathy and manipulative professors interested more in their own reputations than your education.
