I am transfer student from Michigan, and I USED to have a 3.7 GPA. Over there I had good professors who cared about my education and were not unreasonable at all. I did my work, I got an A. Here at BC I do my work, and I get a B or a C. I have been coming here since Fall of 2008, and have not gotten ONE A! I am a good student, I apply myself very much, but if the professor doesn't really like you or they want to play the role of a "harsh professor", then you'll receive a low grade regardless of what you do. My first English class here with professor David Plumb, I did the essays to my best ability, and would never get an A. Some people would even receive an F! I've never seen someone who did their work receive an F! Another Religion professor I had was also terrible! He did NOT know what he was talking about and spoke a lot about his personal life, guess what?…I got a C in that class because i didn't take notes of ALL of the nonsense he said. My GPA went from a 3.7 to a 2.6 in a year! It is not because this school is hard and you have great professors who are difficult…NO! You just happen to meet crazy professors who do not care about you! I am so sick of this school and I am so afraid what will happen next semester because I don't know if my GPA will go down or up. It doesn't depend on me in this school, it depends on the professor's crazy mind set. I don't know how I'll be able to transfer to a University with this GPA. I'm really sad about this.
