Overall, I enjoyed my time spent at Valpo. I was a college athlete, so my experience differs from the majority of people's.

Pros:

It's a great school with a good reputation, especially in the Midwest. The students are some of the nicest people I've ever met. Many students are in frats/sororities. My classes were more demanding than I'd expected them to be, but not overly difficult. I always felt that my grades accurately reflected the amount of work I put into a class. They just built a new union and library, both of which are very nice.

Cons:

It's a largely regional school. Most people where I'm from (TX) had never heard of it. There is VERY little to do at night/weekends, unless you're involved in some activity. There are parties of course, but spending a night in jail for underage drinking is a VERY real possibility. It is the epitome of a college town, which you will either despise or love. Most people were ready to leave after 4 years. You will actually have to work to get decent grades, unlike some schools where you can just coast. Parking was a nightmare and the construction was a major eyesore, but I guess this is a problem at most schools. It also costs as much as other private schools with better reputations.
