I didn't put too much effort into looking at colleges during high school and after spending a year at CCSU, I realize I made the wrong decision. This school was just not what I wanted my college experience to be like. At CCSU there's about 10,000 students, but only 1,400 live on campus. So you'll often find yourself meeting some cool people in class, but you'll never end up hanging out with them.Socially this school is awful. There are no Fraternities or Sororities so on thursday nights you can either party in the dorm (aka, drink with 5 other people in your dorm) or go off campus. When you go off campus, you risk being at a party where the cops will show up and charge everyone with some offense. At one of my first parties, I went to one of the off campus apartments and after about 30 minutes there the cops showed up and charged the 40+ people who weren't 21 with possesion of alcohol. Also, many of the off campuses houses are too far to walk to, so you'll need to either find a designated driver, or be content with someone driving buzzed/drunk. As far as sports goes, no one goes to any of the games, so don't bother think because the school has Division 1 sports that the school follows them. One of my biggest problems with the school, is that the weekends are DEAD. I wish I knew what percentage of the kids who lived on campus went home during the weekends. It's gotta be over 50%. So many people leave, the school closes some of it's gyms and only opens the one dining hall on campus for a few hours a day (on the weekends you can't get food on campus after 6:30 pm). I've been here for a year and now I go home and work every weekend because it's better then staying at school. Here's other problems I have with the school:
