Metro State is a rock solid foundation that gave me not just the knowledge but the perspectives and the critical, analytical skills and experiences needed to be successful in virtually any field where higher-order thinking is requisite. My teachers cared about my success (and still do, actually)while challenging me to be a better writer, thinker and more compassionate person. Even my teachers in some of the most difficult subjects for me (i.e. math and science) were the most helpful, compassionate people I have ever worked with. The social science department faculty have won numerous teaching awards and care more deeply about student success than any other institution I have ever attended. Thats not to say that Metro is not a challenging place to be. Metro is where you want to go if you care about your education and school is not just where you go for BS like fraternity life, sports and the cesspool typically refered to as "campus culture." Metro has none! That doesn't mean its not a great place to meet like-minded, serious people who care about their education and future. It really isn't a place to meet drinking buddies or get a date, but if you care about academics and you want your professors to care about you, you will not find better faculty elsewhere.
