Major: Economics (This Major's Salary over time)
I had some wonderful experiences at George Mason. The first year was really challenging adjusting to college life, did not make a lot of friends until I started getting into my major. I started studying with them a lot, then met more people in the faculty and departments, etc and the last 2 years were really fun and learned a lot. Upscale luxury apartments and a clean environment all the time. I wished that I could of triple majored to stay an extra year before working. Developed relationships with many professors and talk to them still!! Basketball is HUGE here and the atmosphere at the games is electric. You see gold shirts all over the place during game day. Baseball and soccer area also big. Greek life is really big also for the first few weeks then it dies down a little. Some of the classes are extremely challenging, some of them. Depends on the professor sometimes. Take some of the accounting (tax and intermediate) and economics classes (econometrics) (macro) and you will see. Some of the general electives like biology were also interesting. I think the school is a little underrated since it has not been around 200 years, some other institutions, but it is growing very fast. The JOHNSON CENTER is the place to be when your on campus, it gets packed sometimes. Go to the library to get some piece and quite or check out the pond/field area that is nice to relax with friends. Starbucks is a great hangout, its 24hours a day open. The best thing about GMU is that on the weekends, you can go to DC, its only 15 minutes away and you go to the clubs, parties or hang out with Georgetown and other students there around the area. I know sometimes people say that the weekends at GMU are not crowded, etc. It's because they don't want to get in trouble partying on campus outside, so what they do is party in the dorms, apartments and get away from troublesome opportunities, so they can enjoy it. Or, they go to Georgetown or GW parties or go clubbing. You might see some kids driving BMW's or nice cars, but were not UCLA.In summary, you will enjoy GMU one way or another.
