Major: Accounting (This Major's Salary over time)
I was one of those foreign students, who didn't speak perfect English, but I had very good time at Virginia Tech. It's a large university and academical quality varies greatly depending on the major. Some programs are very challenging and nationally ranked while some programs are jokes. I majored in Economics, which was too easy because of not so bright student body at econ department, and Accounting, which had very good curriculum. Big 4 companies heavily recruit from Virginia Tech.People are generally friendly, and most of them are pretty proud of the school (sometimes too much.) This actually helps you a lot in networking if you work in DC/northern Virginia area after graduation.
