I came here from the south and was kind of worried about how I would like being at a private school in the north but after my first year I'd have to say I'm pleasantly surprised. I made a ton of friends and had a good time while studying.

Classes were good and bad. My art class had 200+ students and the teacher was terrrrrrrible. People were getting 40% and 50% on all the tests so she had to curve all the grades to look like the entire class wasn't failing. On the other hand my poli sci intro class was great it all depends on the professor.

The night life is what you make of it. There probably wasn't a weekend that I wasn't either at the local bars or clubs or at a dorm party. The kids like to have a good time. And the bars in hempstead do NOT id so it's pretty good if you're under 21.

Sports are alright if you're into that stuff. I went to most of the football games and there weren't many students at most. Lacorsse games were also fun. I play on the hockey team and it draws a crowd so people have something to do all the time if they aren't into partying.

Overall it's a good school but I'll probably end up transfering to Maryland just because I want to go to a bigger school with a bigger athletic department. I do recomend Post though if you can afford it because the price really does suck but they hand out scholarships with ease.
