Major: Political Science (This Major's Salary over time)
Came here as a junior from a local community college. My major, political science, has proven to be a pretty interesting choice. I would say the classes range from super easy to quite challenging. The core classes, like political theory or some law classes, can be challenging and rewarding. Most elective classes were pretty basic. The teachers were pretty helpful, and the students were quite open to discussion and tolerant of other views. The campus has some beautiful areas, especially now that they have new athletic facilities and some new research buildings. The main food court is amazing, with great food choices and excellent seating. Some buildings are nice, some aren't due to their old age. You're about 45 minutes from beautiful beaches, and the weather here is amazing year round. The worst thing is the parking. The campus is huge and spread out, so you will generally have to park a good distance from where your classes are. The teachers ranged from pretty good to horrible, just ask a junior or senior and you'll know which ones to avoid. The best ones will challenge you and you will leave the class knowing and wanting more. Sports are a big part of campus life, especially the football team. Students get free tickets to home games, which are played at an NFL stadium (Raymond James Stadium, pretty amazing). Overall, USF is still and up and coming school. It has made excellent improvements in the past 10 years, and is not longer that far behind of UF and FSU. It is a legitimate school for academics and athletics. The Tampa Bay area is an awesome place to go to college, and the school offers a great experience.
