I transferred to Oshkosh this fall because I needed a change. I took a tour, and was told many good things about the school, so I decided I would go here. It was a mistake. I did not get anything I asked for when it came to living on campus, and thus got placed on a floor of snobby girls who only cared about themselves. I then decided to go Greek, thinking that it would be a good experience…I was wrong. The girls in the sorority I joined lied to me the whole recruitment time, and then everyone had their own little clique, either no party studiers or super partying drinkers. Half the girls only wanted to be your friend while you were paying for it; I quit this Spring semester and many girls gave me a lot of crap for it. Sorry, but I don't want to pay for people to be fake to me. The classes are much tougher than advertised. "UW Zero" is way too difficult for being such a party school. Don't listen to the tour people; they get paid to tell you that stuff. Hardly anybody stays on campus on the weekends, and those that do are drunk all the time and partying nonstop, and living on campus can get really noisy on the weekends. There is a bar on campus and they like to play loud music during the warmer months. If you live in Scotts or Gruenhagen, you HAVE to have your window closed. School spirit is seriously lacking, other than the UWOSH hoodies sported randomly around campus. Football games are empty comparatively. The field isn't even on campus! One positive thing is the Criminal Justice program. It's easy and the professors are really good. Some of the buildings are pretty nice, too. For example, the SWRC. It's newer and really big. Some of the machines look out onto the river as well.
