I loved Temple. It is true that I am a native Philadelphian. But the reasons Temple worked for me are a little more complex than just that. 1. Scholarship, and even without that, it's a nice price tag for Pennsylvanians. 2. High quality education (if you're willing/prepared to seek out challenging courses; btw, there's also an honor's college, although I did not choose to pursue the honor's degree) 3. Great fellow students; truly a diverse and motivated student population & met very few snobs. 4. Local connections—I'm not sure how far this stretches geographically, but in Philly there are lots of Temple grads in important places who are willing to help, lots of internship opportunities while you're still in school. 5. Great city—it is true that campus is quieter than some, but Temple students compensate by making the city their own. 6. Temple is especially well regarded for its law school, psychology, education and journalism programs, but people in those fields generally know that already. Additionally, the sciences have become dramatically stronger in just the last several years, with a truly huge number of exciting new hires. Even as an undergrad, the existence of strong research programs in all of these fields makes for great opportunities to do research in your field and beef up your resumes! Additionally, Temple has a lot of funding for undergraduate research in all fields where you get paid and get great experience to put on your resume. 7. The tech center. No other school has one.
