Had i known what i was getting into? I wouldn't have gone to Pratt. Now here i am seven years later with Student loans(and just filed for bankruptcy) in a recession for an education that never got me any kind of job. I pretty much paid for friends and some of them I don't even like. Also, thanks to Bush, Bankruptcy will not help with an student loans. I spent 4 years at Pratt and only about 4 teachers actually taught something that helped me grow as an artist. Two of which were not in my major(Comm Design).

Upon graduation, I expected to hit the pavement hard and eventually find a job to begin with. I went through agencies, job boards and more. Pratt Career Services was a big joke. Mostly internships were offered and most of those weren't receptive. Through the interviews and searches that I did, I found that I was not prepared to work out in the real world. For the kind of money Pratt asks for, this is not good. Other experiences may have been different. My advice is do not go there unless you come from some kind of wealth. It will be the only way for you to focus primarily on your art and/or get a job. I graduated in 2004 and there are so many that have stories like mine. I did eventually find a design job but it was for some bootleg factory in Bushwick(and i hate it). It was a job i could have gotten without an overpriced education.
