Major: Religion/Religious (This Major's Salary over time)
I commuted at a public university part-time during high school and enjoyed my experience there, but Nyack College offers so much more. Living on-campus amongst people who (for the most part) challenge you to grow in character and intellect is a once in a lifetime opportunity that I wouldn't trade for anything. Nyack's athletic program (I'm on the Cross-country team) is Div. II and quite competitive in its conference. The faculty (especially those in the English Dept. and the Religion Dept.) are helpful and challenging as professors, and fun and encouraging as friends. If I was to give advice to someone considering Nyack, I would tell them to know themselves - their strengths and weaknesses - before enrolling. If you have the tendency to do the least amount of work possible in order to just coast through school, Nyack might perpetuate this weakness because a student can choose to take the easy classes. If you like to challenge yourself, Nyack offers classes, professors, sports programs, and social action clubs that will allow you to cultivate your strengths and passions. A prospective student should be willing to carve out their on niche; they should discover the many resources that Nyack offers for them to grow and capitalize on them.
