I'm transferring out of this university, so this is just advice for those applying: Creighton is a decent school. Not as hyped up as you think it might be. Outside the Midwest and Hawaii, Creighton is unheard of. It is not deserving of its "Ivy of the Midwest" reputation. No, if anything is the Ivy of the Midwest—look to Chicago's University of Chicago or Northwestern. Creighton's acceptance rate is ridiculously easy. They pretty much let anyone in, but their financial aid is poor if you have poor grades (so deservingly so.) It's an expensive school with resources and housing and residence life not up to par. The people here are pretty much all the same. You either have your foreign kids, Hawaii kids, and frat boys/sorority girls. The boys here think they are frat boys from the East Coast and constantly wear Top Siders and carry off this attitude like they're better than most people. They're not. If you want hot guys, go to the East Coast. Trust me. People are polite, not friendly. They're very judgmental and close-minded and most people are still living on mommy and daddy's wallets and ACT like it. Granted you have to be well off to go to this school, and I'm aware of my own socioeconomic status, but people here act like things are just handed to them.90% of people here start off pre-med. It's a strong program, but you're probably going to drop out because the program is meant to weed people out. Registration is the worst part of the school—not enough classes, they're not spending money on academics (instead, they use it on random maintenance of the grounds, which yes—could be necessary—but most of it is wasted on making the campus look "pretty" which it doesn't once the winter rolls around) Core sucks, too many things to take. Great for if you don't know what you're doing, awful if you have an idea of what you want to do because it wastes time and money. Just go to COBA or Nursing if you know what you want to do, because they have less of a core. The only redeeming thing about this place are the friends I made and the Psychology department. Psychology department is brilliant. Class act. I would stay only for the Psychology department. However, they don't have enough resources to allow people into classes, hopefully they work on the growing and largest major in the CAS.
